Welcome to the Arctic Outlook workshop at Forum Marinum in Turku on November 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.! The workshop brings together experts, companies, and developers in the Arctic maritime industry to discuss current prospects, research, education, and networking opportunities in the field.

The program will feature presentations on topics such as Business Finland’s renewed strategy and funding opportunities, research and education in the Arctic maritime industry, and companies’ views on the development of the sector. The workshop will be facilitated by Mervi Pitkänen, MEREM Maritime Consulting Oy, and opened by Juha Valtanen, TurkuAMK/Turku University of Applied Sciences. Speakers from companies include Jari Yli-Tolppa, Elomatic Oy, Arttu Stenberg DNY, Helsinki Shipyard Oy, and Teemu Kyläkallio, Rauma Marine Constructions Oy.

At the end of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to discuss and consider what should be done to develop research, education, and networking in the Arctic maritime industry.
